Totally agree... they should be using software that can "get out of their way" and just let them be creative. I know plenty of creatives who don't like to deal with technology nightmares, and you know what they do? Surround themselves with people who *do* know how to deal with them, and get them out of their way, so they can make with the creative.
There's easy, and there's powerful, and if there's some middle ground between the two, I say let people at it.
